China has by percentage more cases of certain types of cancer - why would that be? It could be genetic, it could be some other reason, there are no certain answers.
I would have thought that cutting out a major part of our diet would lower our immune systems and increase the risk of disease (quite possibly including some cancers). The Chinese diet is very different from ours - how can we take one element to copy and expect the same results?
Sorry, I don't know how to reply to Scarlett, but I have to say that I am uncovinced by her theory .
Not only do people die from accidents and other non disease related causes, but they also die from congenital diseases that have nothing to do with diet.
As for cancer, some types are consider to have genetic factors. Her theory does not seem to cover children born with cancer or those who develop it before they are weaned. Brain cancer is unlikely to have diet as a major cause either.
My theory is simply that our bodies are deisgned to work depending on what we put into them. If we eat natural, unprocessed foods, avoid chemicals, avoid eating too much, and take note of the illnesses we get and treat them homeopathically (ie- as a whole person) rather than masking the symptoms with drugs, we should all be healthier and live longer.
I am not denying that people die for a multitude of reasons, and that disease can be genetic. But I don't think we do enough to find the cause of our illnesses- which can be as simple as food allergies and intolerances which have not been addressed, or bigger problems that are caused initially by repressed emotion or stress.
I KNOW for a fact that the reason my Dad had a quadruple bypass in his early 50s was because he spent his whole life in an utter rage-red faced, violence. He also over-ate, drank too much, and smoked for 20 years when he was young. If he had been healthier and more chilled out as a person, I think his heart would have been healthier. He never addressed his anger- the reasons for it, or the reasons why he over ate etc. and so just became really unhealthy.
Doctors just prescribe drugs which don't help us with CAUSES. So much can be fixed by a healthier diet and lifestyle.
