Well I have just read it and it is pretty convincing, mind you these things often are. I must say it has made me think as I do love yohurts and drink a fair bit of milk, although I do tend to by organic milk but that has only been widely available over the last few years. Thanks for posting it.
There is a lot of sense in this. I have no doubt whatsoever that we all die because of our diet- cancer/heart disease, whatever. The Western way of life is killing us. I eliminated dairy and wheat (as well as sugar, salt, meat, caffeine, alcohol) from my diet and after a few weeks felt SO much fitter. My skin was glowing, I lost 2 stone, I had tons of energy. Dairy does us no favours. you can get calcium from other foods or from supplements.

What about the lack of exercise? People in rural areas do work from morning til night and they breathe fresher air and are exposed to less radiation from computer and television monitors. They take less processed food that come in cans or bottles or plastic wrapping and their food are fresher which means there are less preservatives used to maintain the food. The move around more since they don't use transportation. Their work gives them less stress. They don't have Starbuck Coffee. They use less chemical products for their daily chores. I mean, there are endless possibilities of factors which could contribute to cancer development.

Treat this with great caution.

China has by percentage more cases of certain types of cancer - why would that be? It could be genetic, it could be some other reason, there are no certain answers.

I would have thought that cutting out a major part of our diet would lower our immune systems and increase the risk of disease (quite possibly including some cancers). The Chinese diet is very different from ours - how can we take one element to copy and expect the same results?

Sorry, I don't know how to reply to Scarlett, but I have to say that I am uncovinced by her theory .

Not only do people die from accidents and other non disease related causes, but they also die from congenital diseases that have nothing to do with diet.

As for cancer, some types are consider to have genetic factors. Her theory does not seem to cover children born with cancer or those who develop it before they are weaned. Brain cancer is unlikely to have diet as a major cause either.

My theory is simply that our bodies are deisgned to work depending on what we put into them. If we eat natural, unprocessed foods, avoid chemicals, avoid eating too much, and take note of the illnesses we get and treat them homeopathically (ie- as a whole person) rather than masking the symptoms with drugs, we should all be healthier and live longer.

I am not denying that people die for a multitude of reasons, and that disease can be genetic. But I don't think we do enough to find the cause of our illnesses- which can be as simple as food allergies and intolerances which have not been addressed, or bigger problems that are caused initially by repressed emotion or stress.

I KNOW for a fact that the reason my Dad had a quadruple bypass in his early 50s was because he spent his whole life in an utter rage-red faced, violence. He also over-ate, drank too much, and smoked for 20 years when he was young. If he had been healthier and more chilled out as a person, I think his heart would have been healthier. He never addressed his anger- the reasons for it, or the reasons why he over ate etc. and so just became really unhealthy.

Doctors just prescribe drugs which don't help us with CAUSES. So much can be fixed by a healthier diet and lifestyle.
