Mr Smow is one of those lucky people that can put his head on the pillow and be asleep literally within 2 minutes and stay asleep for 8/10 hours, whereas I suffer from severe insomnia. I just lay there, despite trying everything.
What’s made it worse is that he’s started snoring really badly. He’s always snored slightly but this is off the scale! Does anyone have any tried and tested remedies that help snoring? ( apart from putting a pillow over his face!!)
I’m completely shattered!! #prettyplease

Is there a particular position that he sleeps in that makes his snoring worse? If so there might be things to work with on that, especially if he gets to sleep so easily and stays asleep.

If say he snores more on his back, could he try sleeping on his side to see if that helps? Unless he shifts about in his sleep but maybe some pillows could be strategically placed?

I've heard of attaching something like a tennis ball in night clothes but I have a feeling that that would just make him grumpy if he shifts about a lot and it'd keep waking him up? Especially if he's used to being such a sound sleeper.
My husband was a terrible snorer, I literally wanted to smother him most nights. Since he’s lost weight, the snoring is virtually non existent, unless he’s had a good drink, then I dig him with my elbow and tell him to turn on his side. I used to use earplugs, which are very good, but they made the ear wax build up and caused me to be deaf too many times.

He sleeps mostly on his stomach, as though he is is sleepbathing if that makes any sense?? But then he always has done. It looks so uncomfortable lol
yes, separate room if you've got one. Works for my OH...
I`m not surprised that he snores when he sleeps face down. That suggests that his snoring problem is caused by the soft tissues at the back of his throat and not his nasal passages.

Ok guys he went up to bed and I’ve just cleared spare room (had loads of nonsense on bed). Feel bad but can’t go on like this x
If you want to sleep in the same room then the only way that you can do it is for him to sleep sitting up (propped up on pillows)
"not his nasal passages"

So I doubt the nasal clips would do any good...
Hope you get some sleep/rest, Smow.
He may just need to take a deep breath.
Definitely separate rooms. Make the ‘spare room’ your boudoir.
I disagree with separate rooms. If possible insist on separate wings!!
LOL, we aint all posh enough to live in stately homes, Barmaid ;-)
Or even separate houses, like Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton.
We’re getting silly now ;)
CloverjoOr even separate houses, like Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton.

Yeah, And look what happened with them ( bloody drop dead gorgeous she is ).
Oh yes, that didn’t work out.
HBC is very beautiful.
Sorry i was just trying to make Smow smile and reassure her that separate rooms are entirely reasonable.
I know, Barmaid, and I think that you are right ( separate rooms ) until the snoring issue is fixed.
I know.
Barmaid, husband and I have separate rooms. Best thing ever!
So do me and Mr BM, Clover. It doesnt have an impact on "other" areas either.
