Woke up for a drink, used my left hand but it began to tingle so tried to put it down before I dropped it. Automatically , I tried to catch it with my bandaged hand. BIG MISTAKE. Felt the skin try and stretch the pain was unreal.
Had to go to the living room to howl so as not to wake dad. Guess that’s me up for a bit. It’s blooming nippy...
Blake, I don’t expect you to do anything. But just coming on to have a chat to take my mind off the pain helps.
It’s close to what I said Alba, just with a few more expletives! I’m cuddled up watching my fish at the moment.
Mamya, they really do. I’d just had the dressing changed and the wound checked today too and my pain levels were dropping...now they are elevated again. I’m really being tested, the surgery has caused my sugar levels to sky rocket which impedes my ability to heal. I’m sure it will heal, but I swear I’m getting a sling...keeps me out of bother.
Little things can make life easier indoors skirt and no underwear struggling with close fitting knickers can be difficult. A sling will stop the reflex grabs, cook small amounts in the microwave, the oven should be off limits.
Use a pillow to elevate your hand when sitting down. Take your painkillers regularly don't wait for the pain to come back. Wear an apron doing stuff one handed means more gets spilt.
Sorry Queen, I'm clearly out of the loop here, but what did you do to your hand to have it bandaged?
Blake, you know how we answer your posts, often fairly silly ones, nicely and respectfully? If you can't do the same for others, best you don't post on them.
I’ve just got up. Woke up with my hand in the bedside table.
Thank you Roman/Scorpiojo for filling Mozz in.
I do have help around the house so I’m ok with being fed. I bought a lounge suit which is very loose to wear - makes me laugh as much feel like a marshmallow.
