Turner Syndrome

Have just heard that a girl I am fond of has just had a little baby girl with Turner syndrome.

I have googled but there are many words. Is this condition severe. Little baby was born at over 2 pounds but is now over 4 pounds.

In the past, I have looked after one teenage girl with Turner's, so not a lot of experience...but, I would say it is severe, to be honest.
She rarely spoke and only copied bird noises, she threw herself, literally, at men that walked past and seemed a lot younger than she was (15). But there could be many different degrees and variations here, so I can only suggest you watch, wait and observe x

It's an intersex condition, in case they haven't said that. Basically, a foetus without the father's sex chromosome, is female by default. I think the symptoms can be very varied though x

The mother in question is a lesbian and her and partner went through IVF with donor sperm. Perhaps there was something wrong with the sperm.

Who knows... they will probably keep an eye on her heart and kidneys and there is a very strong possibility she will be infertile. I hope she still has a very happy life xx

My daughter has Turners and we didn't even know for years. She lives a perfectly normal life apart from being small. She is a college graduate and is now a teacher.
