A friend fell on some stairs and broke a bone in her big toe. How long will it be before she can become mobile again, hobbling about and driving?
I suppose this is like asking, 'How long is a piece of string?'.
An average time?
She's in her late 60s.

I've broken a few bones in my time and it's generally about 6 weeks. It'll probably be a tender after that though, toes are not easily treated.
What ummmm has said is about right.
what if it is her left toe though, Boaty?
That's about left then DT! :o}
six to eight weeks

surprisingly bones heal quicker than tendons
tmt:
stick it to the next toe with tape
Driving when she can do an emergency stop without pain.....
If you neighbour strap a big toe pad the space well or you will pull the next toe out of line
