Yesterdays Cold

I had a slight cold yesterday, ie runny nose, streaming eyes. No cough, no fever. Feel much better today, just a bit blocked up. Problem is I work part time in a dementia care home and am due in tomorrow. Should I go in or self isolate for 1 wèek,? Tried ringing 111 impossible!!! cant get through. Gone through the 111 website and it tells me, surprise surprise that I've had a cold...doesn't give any info for wether you should stay off work if you work in a place where people are high risk of this virus badly

Call the care home and ask them. No fever, no cough should be ok

I would ring the home just to see what they want. None of them seem to have been given official advice, yet.

Before Corvid would you have gone in with a slight cold? If so then I'm not sure things are any different now. But ask your employer a sthey may be being extra cautious

Corvid might suggest bird flu.

you're infectious (for a cold) till all the symptoms are gone, so it might be an idea to take a day off, just in case. Doesn't sound like the symptoms of coronavirus, though, so unless it all lingers on I wouldn't be self-isolating.

What about getting tested ? Of course that is probably not readily possible, testing is a foreign approach.

Pointing out shortcomings is detested in some quarters where the hope of improvement (change) is discouraged. There the status quo is by definition perfection.
