I’m Upset And Feel So Helpless Here

I have mentioned it in other people’s posts how my daughter has the virus, I didn’t really want to make a big thing of it , especially on here , but I’m worried sick about her,she started to feel poorly on Saturday, since then she’s sleeping almost around the clock , her temperature goes dangerously high then drops down again with paracetamol, my son in law sleeps downstairs on their sofa, I can’t help them at all which is why I’m pouring this out here, I was able to speak to her briefly earlier and in that short time ,she became tired and breathless , she has no other underlying health issues so I’m hoping this weekend sees a turning point in her condition

Oh, bobbi! How awful for you not being able to help her. I feel for you, I really do. Just try to keep in mind that she's young and healthy so she'll get through this. Try not to worry too much - easier said than done I know! I wish her a speedy recovery. x

oh bobbi that must be hard. Hold on to the FACT that most people who get it get over it with no bad after effects. One of my internet friends who has multiple minor health problems had it recently. She is now convalescent, still tired but did get better as most people do. Her symptoms were pretty much the same as your daughter's

I think my OH might have it. I've never seen someone sweat so much. I've never seen him take pain killers until yesterday :-(

Thanks all, it brings it home when someone you love has it and you just can’t help them , she’s a manager at a busy dental practice, two of the dentist have it, another two nurses and now one of the dentists wives as of today

Ah, bobbi... it is worrying enough when they are ill, even in normal circumstances. She very much has the stats on her side and I hope she gets better very soon xx

Please all , don’t think I’m looking for sympathy ( save that for people like my daughter with the virus) but I do need someone outside the family to talk to which ordinarily I’d be able to do that

Fine. Only essential shop trips every few days.

We don’t even do that SK, we had one walk with Lola yesterday and that’s it , we have plenty of food in and OH reads the news on his iPad

Of course it is, and you have my empathy at least, whether you like it or not :-). And of course to your daughter. She won't want you to be risked, so you are doing the only thing you can by staying away. You are still giving her support, so that isn't your choice or your fault, how things are at the moment x

That's exactly it, bobbi. You're her mum and good mums do what good mums do. They love their children and they worry about them. x

She pleaded with me on the phone earlier telling me and OH not to come in contact with anyone at all, I allayed her fears by assuring her when we went for a walk and saw a few people with dogs, we crossed the road etc

sorry to hear this, it must be very stressful. It does sound as though she's got more or less standard symptoms, and the truth is, especially among younger people, almost every single one recovers.

My sympathies to ummmm as well.
