I've only ever suffered with hayfever once in my life as far as I know, and that was a few years back.
I've had a mild sore throat for the last few days and slightly blocked and runny nose. No other symptoms. Could this be hayfever? As a non-sufferer, is there any reason why I could have it now?
high pollen count, dry breezy weather, excellent year for blossom trees and the wind pollinated trees generally blowing stuff everywhere. Its a dreadful period for hay fever. I didn't get hayfever until I was in my 30's and it hit me really hard...has tailed off over the last 35 years but I have it worse this year than other years when its mild to non existent.
Pollen count is high most days, while the dry sunny weather is here. Or it could just be a cold. Or other allergy. I'd be more inclined to think a cold. Well that, or the plague.
I've had it also...drippy nose, dry scratchy throat that I want to keep clearing. It's been like this for about a month. I checked the pollen count about 2 weeks ago...it was very high then and had stayed high. I've had this in the past...I'm just very, very aware of it this year.
Allergies can begin at any age. My husband never had it until he was in his 60s. It may not even be hay fever as such. I react to flower pollen at this time of year and tree mould in the autumn. I am really suffering at the moment!
