Be under no elusion, the first battle is saving lives, the second battle is the economy. Win both battles, and you win the war. Someone else is fighting the first battle for you, the second battle you will have to help fight. Both battles will be a struggle, and both will have many casualties.

To bear in mind, no one in the first or second world wars paid 80% of your wages, or made available funds to support your business, and before the snipers shoot over my head, and say they are not getting the 80% or support for their business, as I said many casualties in both battles.

To bear in mind, everyone in the first and second world war, were on the front line in one way or other, again with many casualties.

To bear in mind, most foods were unavailable, no supermarkets filled to the brim, and no food banks, millions of folk neared starvation, but still survived.

To bear in mind, If Winston Churchill had put the economy before survival, you would not be fighting any battle today. or complaining about your financial position.

Ok.
I’m amazed the The Times hasn’t been in touch to offer you a weekly column with such breathtaking social commentary, teacake.
Doesn't mean the balance is right. Whatever the case in WW2, we now have to do what we see as being right today.
Bear in mind, this is the year 2020.

Keep calm and carry on.
OMG didn't you get enough self-satisfaction from your last thread? I used to think you were a sweet little old lady who was terrified of getting the virus and needed comfort. I realise I was completely wrong on all accounts.
I'm not hiding. I'm just not going out.

No, we'd al be German and look how well they've handled the CV-19 pandemic. We'd all have been teted and back at work by now!!!
LOL (or should I say

@10.19 I'm sure Captain Tom would be thrilled with that comment. after going through two world wars. Shameful comment.

@10.13 your dead right it is 2020, it appears we struggle when things get out of our comfort zone, so it takes a real man that was born in 1921 ( Tom) to show us the way forward.

You think the Nazis would care about people the way the here and now German does?
so it takes a real man that was born in 1921 ( Tom) to show us the way forward.

Isn't he going round and round?
Teacake, My grandfather fought in WW1 aged 16 Father was a pilot in WW11 aged 19 so why don't you wind your neck in and leave your false outrage for someone who cares - it was a joke.
Without being dismissive loads of stuff we're used to in 2020 weren't available during the world war anyway.
I have no idea....zero idea what the point of this OP is....oh wait....

12.28 exactly, we are spoiled to the core. If you take the likes of C/Tom he set out to get a £1000, even to this day he saw a £1000 has being a big ask, and to him a hell of a lot of money to ask for. He's still has values,.
He's still has values,.

Why wouldn't he, or do you think the 25 million could change him?
Teacake I wish you would leave Captain Tom out of this. You are using him as some sort of weapon, and that IS shameful. Just leave him out of it yes?
They shut your last thread down, Teacake. Thought you'd get to 300 answers and the hidden prize.
