Urgent Medical Treatments
32 Answers
Whenever the government get a wiff of being bought to book they immediately start building their defences and lies. Dominic Raab on interview today said, The NHS have done a brilliant job caring for thousands of covid cases. ( true), then he continued to say they have also, at the same time still been able to treat people with all (other) urgent medical treatments, ( big fat lie) because he knows full well cancer patients are (not) getting their urgent treatment, and top medical doctors have said there could be more people die from cancer than covid, due to the lack of detection of cancer, or stopping of treatment already in progress. Covering their backside in advance is what their doing. And I doubt we won't see any figures for those deaths. False statements and diversions.

It's basically for prostate cancer although there is some spread to my bones and lymph glands. I was taken into hospital at the end of January last year after enduring 11 days without being able to pee due to my enlarged prostate. After 5 nights in hospital they managed to get my kidneys going again (as they'd almost packed up entirely by then) and I then spent 11½ months with a catheter fitted until I had what was meant to have been a routine prostat op in mid-January of this year.
Unfortunately though they then found cancer cells in the bits they'd taken out of me and, after lots of scans and tests, I've ended up on chemo and hormone treatment. (The hormone treatment is actually having ladies' HRT patches stuck on me!)
The cancer is 'non-curable but treatable', with a decent prognosis. (I asked the Macmillan nurse who's my 'key worker' if I needed to start thinking about getting someone lined up to look after my cats when I die. His response was "Go out and get another cat - you'll probably outlive it!")

The NHS always has been and always will be about Priorities !! Which is as it must be ! The problem is that different people and groups of people , have different priorities !
Unfortunately, there are many Cancer patients who have NO HOPE of recovery ! All that can be done in those cases is to make what life remains as comfortable as possible !
Terrible as it may seem ,especially to those patients relatives , priority MUST be given to those who DO have a chance of recorery .
