You need to speak to your GP to ascertain what the best dosage of Cyanocobalamin would be for you. The recommended dose is one to three (50mcg) tablets per day but only your doctor will know whether you should be taking 1, 2 or 3 tablets.

B12 deficiency usually occurs in vegans. Are you a vegan?
I`m vegan except for oily fish which I consume twice a week which provides more than enough B12. If you consume no milk, cheese or any animal derived products, you should take supplements, the dosage of which should be clearly marked on the container. All this applies only if you have no medical problems which are causing your deficiency. If you have any such problems, then follow the advice of the above contributers.

I am assuming from your replies that you have Pernicious Anaemia and that you have been having monthly injections of B12 and that you want to change to B12 by mouth.
Perfectly reasonable.
However, although I am not a Haematologist 5micograms three times a day is totally inadequate as you will need at least 1 ,000 micrograms daily on one dose.
I stand to be corrected

There are 2 forms of B12...Methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin. The first is naturally occurring, the second is synthetic. They vary in how they are absorbed/retained. Synthetic tends to be cheaper.

Our surgery has just restarted B12 jabs so my female relative has an appointment next week for hers.
It was due just at lockdown so she couldn’t have it, and she’s been using an oral spray in the meantime, not sure how much good it’s done. Two days ago she started to have ‘funny feelings’ in the toes of both feet (one of the signs her gp was concerned about)so I feel it’s probably not a moment too soon for her to have the jabs again.
