Flu Jab..

..tomorrow, apparently we’re the first this year to have it where we live, 9am.
Phone call from pharmacist earlier to tell us turn up 10 minutes early, scan a whatsit thing in their window, with our smart phones, and fill in the questionnaire which will appear so we spend as little time as possible inside having the jab.
Anyone had theirs yet?

I'm not in the least bit worried about mine, gness for three reasons:

1. I have no qualms whatsoever about passing by another human being on my way into or out of a building and I am extremely puzzled why anybody else should be.

2. My doctor's surgery has been all but closed since the end of March and whether I was worried about going there or not, it is of no consequence whatsoever as it is not open to visitors.

3. I have no intention of having a 'flu jab. I've had it twice and was very ill on both occasions.

Right on NJ! My surgery has been closed since March (have to drive 5 miles to another practice in the group). I've never had the flu jab as (a) I've never had flu in my 71 years and (b) each time my late mother had the jab she was ill for weeks afterwards.

Very pleased to learn you are almost at the end of your chemo sessions Chris. You have been amazing the way you have kept going all the way through.
I've just looked at my surgery's website and they start Sat 3rd Oct, the most vulnerable first and we'll get a letter.

My son's is on 10th, as he has asthma. Typically, I'll be working then... does anyone know if a 17 year old can go by themselves? I will probably check with surgery, but it is hard to get through.

That's even more complicated, mamya :-). He isn't allowed to use it as under 18, and I'm not allowed to do it for him due to confidentiality.... I will ring them, I guess. Thanks though xx

I wont be having a flu jab if/when invited. It always made my mum unwell, and I reckon it would be the same for me.

October 6th for both of us. Text from surgery asking us to ring and make appointment which I did. No special instructions given.

Scanned the QR code in pharmacy window which brought up a questionnaire...name, address, date of birth, contact, allergies, took five minutes to fill in. I guess it’s because it’s the pharmacy not our GP and they didn’t have all the details they need.
Takes two weeks to fully give the immunity it provides.
Chatting to pharmacist about COVID and she reckons it’ll be April/May next year when a vaccine will be available against it.

The pharmacist has a pretty large internet form to fill out
money claim of course for doing it
but also every dose is matched to each pt
so a look back can be done by computer
shd there be a side effect

I was pretty impressed. she also seems to get steam-up for pts 2. 3 and 4
