bhg481 I am an old folk, and they did say they were due this past Monday. perhaps I should phone.
Barsel - you wouldn't be silly to get your foot in the door. According to the doctors on TV they have to order the vaccine early in the year, so they go by last year's take up and, probably, add a bit. This year, because of Covid, more people are looking for a flu' vaccination than usual so there could be some short-term shortages. Offering the vaccine to younger age groups won't have helped the numbers which is why they're dealing with the "needy" first.
We had ours as soon as they were available at our GP practice. We’ve had these regularly for over 40 years, even before they were free of charge, and have noticed that they always keep us free of winter colds too.
Do not usually bother but am getting it this year, Saturday morning. I had to ring them for an appointment, half an hour waiting in queue for them to answer.
Barsel, you could also try your chemist.
Had to go for some blood tests last week so they did me while I was there.
Had the flu jab Mon early doors. In and out in 3 minutes with no fuss. The surgery was empty. Just me and "She who must be obeyed" behind me. They made us maintain 6ft apart, and wear masks, despite knowing that we were from the same address. There were 8 staff on duty who were not wearing masks or social distancing but the nurse was masked, gloved, and aproned. Farce.
yes i will but my pharmacy hasn't started them yet.
jno, I tried to book online with Tesco pharmacy but they wanted to know my medical history and I didn't want to do that.
Had ours at Boots last Friday which was booked at the beginning of August. Got a text from surgery couple of days ago telling us phone for appointment.
What did Boots charge Ubasses? I'm paying £8 at Asda.
Had mine on Saturday. Felt rubbish for a couple of days, but ok now.
I usually get mine at Health Centre but have received a text saying saying they would not be doing the flu jags this time and the Health Board would be getting in touch letting us know the details to get the jag.
I’m supposed to be eligible as I’m 50 now, but as there’s a shortage of vaccines I’ll leave it. I’ve never had flu in my life and have no underlying conditions so it would feel wrong to take one even if there was no shortage.
Ladybirder, it was free we are over 65.
Yes, about a week ago. Got waylaid by my pharmacist after picking up another prescription.
I will be having mine, doctors letter arrived today.

Yes there is a shortage. My wife works for the NHS (in contact with patients) and is supposed to have one. They haven't got any at the moment.
Got mine booked with Boots for the 20th October. Don’t like having it too early.
Barsel, I just got mine at the chemists who dole out my prescriptions - they probably know more about my medical history than I do. (I must be one of their best csutomers.) But yes, I probably wouldn't want to be telling Tesco's about it.
Yes, all booked in. I never miss having it.
