As many of you know we are in the slow process of renovating our entire house. We have built three extensions on the house, the largest of which is a big open plan kitchen / diner / living space out the back and at the beginning of March we went to have our new open plan kitchen drawn up and we paid a substantial deposit. I proudly showed our drawings to my colleagues at work who couldn't wait to see what we were doing.
Then lockdown hit us and subsequent to that I sustained a catastrophic injury and had four months off work.
I have now returned to work to find that our Team Leader - a total control freak if every there was one, who quizzed me on every detail about the kitchen - has now gone and built an identical extension and copied our design right down to the finer details (handle-less gloss grey kitchen units, underfloor heating, bi-fold doors, strip lighting velux windows, large grey indoor / outdoor tiles, wine cooler built into the island, built in appliances in exactly the same configuration as ours - she has literally copied it to the letter!) She has now passed this design off as her own. It is not the first time she has copied someone's idea and taken the credit for it.
I am just livid and feel rather cheated. My husband told me not to worry about it. I worked my backside off for two years to pay for my dream kitchen.
I think we have all known people like this to some extent,I'd say little but would mention that you were pleased she liked your plans so much that she had them done too.
It wasn't a case of opening my mouth too much, JJ. She was devious in the way she extracted all the details from me and got me to show her my drawings.
Honestly?
Probably quietly smug that she liked my kitchen so much she had to copy it but how did she het the plans cg,did she actually photo copy them?
