If so can I recommend giving them Melatonin. I use it myself occasionally if I can't sleep and have given it to my last two frightened terriers on Bonfire and Halloween nights and they were totally calm. Not sure yet whether my new little chap is frightened of them but if he is he'll get a 1mg tablet as soon as I notice he's not happy.
If you are interested I'm C&Ping the dosage info.
//A general rule of thumb for melatonin dosage (up to 3x daily) for dogs is as follows: Dogs less than 10 lbs should be given 1 mg. Dogs weighing 10-25 lbs should be given 1.5 mg. Dogs weighing 26-100 lbs should be given 3 mg. \\
I hope someone finds this helpful.

yes LB its good stuff. Can I also hijack your thread to ask people who may not know about it to sign the linked petition? We have a debate on 2nd november this year, a record I think. The current petition is to continue the campaign and secure further action in 2021.

Poor Jess is absolutely terrified of fireworks, gun shots and banging drums.
Luckily living in NI we don’t really have fireworks in November
No thankfully, Lola never bothers

Roger, the Staffie couldn't care less.
Bruno, Rotti, Staffie cross gets very annoyed with them, but make contact with him, hand on back, whatever and he's fine.
not sure - duggee has yet to experience them

Very funny Woofy. If I was allowed a Finger sign there would be one here;-)
Lucky for Jess mm. I take it you have lived elsewhere with her where it wasn't so quiet.
Good for Lola Bobs and fingers crossed for duggee bn.
Baldric is one of them the Top Dog (after you of course)

Bruno likes to think he is ;-)
My cat's weren't to bothered by them as they would stay indoors sleeping most of the time. Much more of a problem for me and little Tigs though. He hates loud noises and blocks his ears even when I'm vacuuming.

Ah bless him. I envy you having room and time for so many dogs, especially all rescues.
Question Author
Has he always been like that Tiggs or did something frighten him at some time?
Question Author
Tiggs I've just remembered the fear of loud noises is one of the two fears we are born with. The other is the fear of falling. Sorry I forgot.
She’s a failed gun dog who still 6 years later has issues from the abuse she received during her first 9 months
He's on the spectrum, LB. Was diagnosed about 4-5 years ago.
Question Author
I'm not surprised mm, awful. Would you say she is a happy dog now, with you, most of the time, in spite of her issues?
Sorry Tiggs I didn't know, That must be hard for both of you. On the bright side your cats are OK with loud noises unlike a little not quite 2-year old cat that died of fright a few days after being terrified by a firework.
My little chap has been OK tonight but most noise has been in the distance but it won't be like this on bonfire night.
I used Pet Remedy spray for Sally...she was absolutely terrified of loud noises. Fireworks left her panting and dribbling. The Pet Remedy was the only thing that worked for her. All my cats have been bomb proof.
I've obviously been lucky, as I've never had any dogs or cats worried about fireworks. In fact, my cocker is actually watching them tonight through the window.
Yes, we found (2 boxers) that they were ok indoors but not outdoors. Both sat watching out the patio but outside a different story so a bit difficult for the end o night wee.

Enjoying them Pixie, doesn't get better than that!
And I guess the minute you let them out for their EONW wmf, an ear shattering cannon goes off. Sod's law.
Strange, but last night it seems a lot of local folk must've thought that Guy Fawkes night had arrived already. There's no understanding other folk.
I heard quite a few fireworks go off very late last night. Must've been around midnight.
