I'll be going to Ipswich Hospital this afternoon, tomorrow afternoon, the next afternoon, the afternoon after that . . . and so on for every weekday (except the Christmas Bank Holidays) until 11 January. I was there last Monday and loads of times before that too. I've never been in the least bit worried about catching Covid-19, as the statistics show that...

i have been to hospital in the last few months, everyone was asked at the door if that had symptoms, had washed their hands and put gel on as went into the hospital. Everyone was masked. No i didn't fear covid.

Thanks emmie. I suppose hospitals will take extra care.
there was social distancing, and plenty of hand gels around.
have you got to go to hospital?
Yes, in early December and I have a little concern because I know someone in their 40's who caught it when she had to go to hospital for stitches. I am quite a bit older than my 40's ! She was ok by the way.
I went to A an E last weekend. It was sparkling with cleanness and I watched the nurses scrub down the bays and beds after each patient moved on. I did not give it a second thought. We were all masked up with medical masks as we walked in too...despite having our own masks.
Hospitals are safer than any environment at this time.
Went in for heart problem, came out after 8 days fully contaminated, Mrs Dag also got it as I wasn't told until afterwards I was infected.
Yes, outpatients only. Excellent service, no waiting, social distancing etc all good
I'd be less worried now than at the beginning. I think they have got better. The people I know with booked appointments have all had to have a Covid test 72 hours before.
I was in hospital on Friday 13th for a day case procedure. Not worried about covid at all. More concerned about who was putting what and where!! ( Colonoscopy.). :-(
A couple of people I know - cancer patients -have been for scans - but neither were tested for Covid either before or after their visits. They said the hospitals carried out strict procedures though and they've suffered no ill effects.
The appointment was only 10 months overdue. I was in no hurry. :-)
I know someone who tested positive for Covid whilst in hospital only a few weeks ago. Didn't develop the illness though.

There'll be a far greater chance of me catching Covid-19 when I do my shopping at Morrison's on my way home this afternoon than when I'm at the hospital!
yes, it was very quiet and staff always made sure you sanitised and followed rules, it felt safer there than in Tesco!
My commiserations re your 'oscopy, retro - I had one 2 years ago and my eyes are still watering, as the fentanyl and midazolam they gave me had no effect whatsoever! And I hated the Picolax before, too.

Good luck with your treatments, Chris.
I have a colonoscopy tomorrow morning so will be having a pleasant evening drinking MoviPrep in the loo. Tested for Covid on Friday and was told no news would be good news. So far no news. The hospital only test if there is a surgical procedure, they don't test if you are in for a scan.
Had a visit for day surgery for basal cell cancer. No problems at all. All well organised and sorted.
Fingers crossed for you Chris that you don't feel too bad as this round of Chemo?? goes on. I know you don't go in for hugging but I don't care. Big cyber hug from me:-)
