I live by myself. I don’t have COVID. How can I transmit COvid to my family in Southampton when I go down there and visit them for Xmas?

A plane sounds the worst option. I know I won't be going down to London, even though it may be the last fairly normal Christmas for mum who has dementia. Hopefully Easter will be a safer option. The
Only you know how much Christmas as a family together means relative to the risk. Posting here seems to indicate you have doubts. I wouldn't but I am not you

Chrissa just do what you feel comfortable and safe with but don't tell us. My understanding is we can actually do what we like over those 5 Xmas days but anyway. When you post this on AB you are always going to get a hard line from those who will think you are thoughtless or mad (and think this virus is absolutely everywhere in the air as soon as you step outside your front door) so best not to bother asking. As an aside the filtration system on a plane is as good as a top notch operating theatre but lots of people seem to think that's where you'll catch it.
I only had a test done because a colleague went down with it. Had it not been for a positive result I wouldn't have even known I'd had Covid. I would describe it as the mildest cold I've ever had.
I'm sure there are plenty like me walking around blissfully unaware they've got this virus.
Having said that you can't live your life in fear and you really can't go without seeing your beautiful granddaughters at Christmas. Just exercise caution in the usual manner - wear your mask where appropriate, keep your distance and carry handgel with you everywhere.

///////Chrissa, if you're a normal, healthy person (not a super-fit athlete), you've more chance of being hit by a meteorite than dying of CV19.//////
What utter nonsense.
Chrissa1 is a GRANDMOTHER...and has about a 1in10 chance of catching it in the UK.NOT 1in200,000 by being hit by a meteor.
The British public are going to get exactly what they deserve when the 3rd spike and lockdown hits them inthe last week of January.
