Japanese female attitudes to sex
3 Answers
I can vaguely remember seeing Clive James on TV explain is his jokey way that women in Japan have a totally different attitude to sex and relationships from western women. He said that pre-marriage Japanese women's attitude to relationships and sex were pretty similar to (non-yobbish) western males - i.e. pretty guilt-free, uninhibited and opportunistic. Can anyone confirm ? Is there any relationship between the dominant religion(s) in Japan and this social behaviour pattern ?
Or was he just gassing as usual ? I'm asking in a purely academic sense - happily married myself ;-)

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare Japanese female and male; or alternatively Japanese female and western female. On the latter comparison, your (or Clive James's) description of Japanese female, pre-marital behaviour - guilt-free, uninhibited and opportunistic - seems pretty much the same as both western female and male behaviour; and I would be surprised if it didn't also parallel Japanese male pre-marital sexual behaviour. What any of this has to do with religion (or lack of religion) - Japanese or western - could I suppose be endlesssly debated.
What the F@##k is Geofbob going on about? Is that an answer, or is it a question? Actually, mine isn't much of an answer either, but I my friend toured Japan in a band and can confirm that quite a few Japanese girls were up for anything sexual with any of his band or crew. Also, a few of my friends could also verify that Japanese girls at gigs in the UK did seem to fit your profile. However, whether either circumstances are a reflection of Japanese girls or rock chicks, who's to say? I, now being a married man, couldn't possibly comment!!
Sorry if my first answer seemed over-complex. I was simply trying to point out that the given description of Japanese girls' sexual behaviour didn't seem too different from that of western girls, and I didn't see why they needed to be compared to western boys. Vinny Ramone's anecdotal evidence seems to bear that out - after all, groupies are hardly a Japanese phenomenon.
