Happy new year. My plan is to shift this lockdown weight on a treadmill starting jan 4th. I can walk quick no problem but would like to run. I’ve never been able to run a lot as I always get a severe stitch. Advice please to avoid this
There is a series of podcasts by the NHS called couch to 5k. It builds up to continuous running using walking and running. Not sure if this will help but it might be worth taking a look.
Don’t drink too much water or you will feel sick. Frequent sips and a good drink when you’ve finished is key. Start small, with a mix of walking and running
I taught myself to run on a running machine, because when I ran outside I couldn’t pace myself so would set out too fast and maybe that’s why you get a stitch when you run. Start off at a slightly faster than walking pace and jog, and you can increase when you feel comfortable. I know some people that have used the couch to 5k app, and it works well too.
