I used to feel really sorry for Kate Garraway and her family as they struggle with her husband’s battle with COVID 19, until now, she’s cashing in on his suffering by publishing a book and making a documentary about his illness, how low can you go in the pursuit of a few bob?

Exactly
I assume you have inside information on what she may do with any profits.
Maybe lacking a second income makes a difference...even for those who we think make loads.
Also, maybe she's had enough interest from the public who want to know how she has managed such a dreadful situation. I'd rather not judge.

Hi teacake, no I have no idea what she proposes to do with the dosh but I suspect that,as she has a salary of £544,000 p.a., she could scrape by without resorting to this. It seems a little distasteful to me.
Perhaps she's doing it to help herself cope and keep her mind busy?
people who have an income of (say) 1m tend to have outgoings commensurate with their income I don't think they think to themselves "well the average wage is £30k, so i'll just spend that and bank the rest". Even people you perceive as rich have mortgages, bills, school fees and so on
Probably because all their money was tied up and he was in a coma , who can blame her? I don't, good on her
I'm not very good at kicking someone when they are down, like many others Kate and family have had and still are having a dreadful time.
/// Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the journalist said: "One of the practical problems - which a lot of people would've experienced if they've got the absence of someone in their life - like many things the car is entirely in Derek's name, the insurance is in Derek's name, a lot of our bank accounts. ///
What a mean post. She’s having an awful time. Good luck to her.

Your sensitivities towards this woman are very commendable and I applaud you for them, but could we please season them with a touch of realism, she is revealing to every man and his dog that which should remain sacrosanct to the immediate family for nothing more than pecuniary gain. I hope her husband is a forgiving chap when he, hopefully, recovers.Good luck to him.
So she's writing a book about how hard it's been and is ? Where's the harm in that for God Sakes?
It could help people who's loved ones are suffering like Derek is , just don't buy the book or look at excerpts if you feel so strongly !
‘Should remain sacrosanct’ .....who says?
Poor woman, good luck to her.
I look forward to watching the documentary. I probably won't buy the book as it's not something I would ordinarily sit and read.

I hope she makes enough money to cover his inevitable care costs and I wish them all the best for the future.
Have you read her book yet? Save your criticism for when you have.
" Shes revealing to every man and his dog" I take it you've already read the book that's not out yet?
Of course she has outgoings and of course it is a difficult time for her, as it is and has been for less fortunate financially placed families.
I am certain that there are perks to her fame.
Timing, to me that is where my criticism is focused and perhaps she would have drawn less attention if she had waited for the outcome of this terrible predicament.
Sqad she may have a money flow problem right now, no one knows that ,do they ?
Didn't she have breast cancer

Good luck to her and her family
i feel so sorry for her and anyone indeed going through this dreadful time, cashing in is hardly how i would have put it.. very mean spirited
