Duraphat

Since I got the two big molars removed two weeks ago - my dentist did give me a tube of Duraphat 5000 along with mouthwash.

It is very expensive at £17.99 for quite a tiny tube and I have bought 2 online and nearly at the end of the second one.

Would anybody know of other "similar" cheaper toothpaste as I need to keep up this cleanliness of my mouth.

It's got a high level of sodium flouride

My dentist gave me a prescription for this. Perhaps yours would if you asked?

Your dentist probably had them from a rep to give out as a promotion, are you sure you need a high fluoride one, if so your dentist can prescribe high fluoride toothpaste 3 months supply at a time

Barry - that first link is a price for dental professionals and the second one is for presciption only. Not sure if JJ has a prescription.

Oh booga. If it's prescription only why is JJ paying £18 a tube?

ok - guys thanks for that information. He did give me a free first toothpaste (Duraphat). But when I got home I paid over £36 for two more tubes.

Reading some of the links I do need "permission" or prescription from the dentist which I think he will do.

I am familiar with the receptionists and so I am off to post a wee mail to her asking her even what is the procedure to buy some ie if she could arrange for the prescription to be made out. I do think just a number needs to be provided but even at £8 a tube - that would be brilliant. Thanks again guys.
