Just had a very rude receptionist from my Medical Centre offer me Monday 8th for my injection, no other options if you do not take it up you will not be offered one again. Surely this is not the case, I thought you could get this jab at a later date if you wished. I have made the appointment but am concerned that snow is forecast for my area and I will not be able to get there by car or foot. She said they had very few allocations but surely they will get more. Anyone else had this problem. Thanks
Got my letter last Saturday and went on line Monday and made two appointments. Plenty of times offered. First this Saturday. My sister, 52 and no health issues at all had hers last Wednesday. Totally different parts of the country.
there is no need for anyone to be rude (including patients to staff)
I agree - our local surgery have put out an announcement saying you may get an NHS letter inviting you to make an appt at the hub (which could be a long way away) and to do that if you want, or to wait till GP asks you to a local one if you prefer
My wife spent all day Monday and yesterday phoning people on the surgery's list of patients asking if they wanted appointments for the vaccination on Thursday and Friday this week. She was surprised how many people declined.
And theres me thinking rudeness is an acceptable trait of all gp receptionists. Well it has been for me over the years. In fact im struggling to remember a polite one.
That makes sense about the letters and local bookings running side by side. OH received the letter and booked online for the large vaccine hub. Its fairly close so no problem and lots of choice of date and time. On the day of the jab, GP receptionist called about the vaccine but we just thought it was to tick him off the list.
