Dentists..

Couple of weeks ago my old neighbour had a tooth-ache. Dentist was shut but said to ring up for an appointment.
I had to ring and the receptionist said there was a £60 cash fee to see someone. Checked with neighbour, no problem. Later that day, he'd had the tooth out and was charged £80 cash. That's not bad I said as it costs £60 to have a tooth pulled around here anyway.
Same day, I ordered a new fridge/freezer from Amazon for him but he kept grumbling they'd charged £60 extra for delivery. I didn't think that was possible so asked him to show me his bank statement when it came.
Sure enough, after a bit of detective work, it wasn't Amazon but the dentist had charged the £60 to his card.
Do you think this is a rip-off using Covid as a cover.
Or a fair charge in lieu of danger money for treating possible Covid patients.
Anyone had a similar experience?

if that is an NHS charge, it's not correct as it does not equate to any NHS charge for dentistry. I would happily pay £140 to get rid of toothache though :)
