The Greed Continues

I see this morning that my dentist was advertising on a local site, it starts off, " We are here to look after your teeth no matter what" Going into their online booking one CLICKS(existing customer) then CLICKS (private) results, No appointments.
So then I CLICK (existing customer) and NHS, result no appointments.
So then I CLICK new customer, and then click private, loads of appointment times. Charge £150.00 to include some treatment if an emergency. In other words the rest of you can sod off for now, covid time, big money time.

they might like to stop saying "We are here to look after your teeth no matter what", though, if it's really "We are here to look after your teeth if you go private".

PP you've missed the whole point of my thread, or not even bothered to read it, or my other posts. Lets see if I can help you further. The dentist that I see and have done for 20 years, along with many other regular customers of the same dentist is putting off those people whether they be private or NHS, for the now lucrative market of NEW private patients @ £150 a time. The Reason? because they know that many other people outside their normal area have not been able to get their normal treatment from their own dentist and the chances are that many now need urgent work done, so it is a case of strike while the iron is hot. Their on line booking system says it all, to understand the latter, read the OP. To the ones that say their dentist is working normally, then your lucky they still have some sort of moral code of practice, but there are many that are just ripping people off were possible.
When you have people losing their jobs and homes and fair play dental treatment is being made difficult for them to get, that just adds to the many problems that folk have had to endure over the last twelve months.
As someone said on TV tonight, The wages of sin is death, the greed of people today is unbelievable.

I am an NHS patient. Got a text from my dentist on 09/01/21 stating "We are now open as normal to see you safely for your dental and hygeine care. Please contact us to make an appointment."
Just made an appointment for middle of May for a checkup. Could have had an earlier appointment - my choice to delay as I wanted it after my second vaccine jab. No complaints here.

Dentists are a business, they need to make money to survive. Maybe this particular dentists has decided to make some extra money now so that they can survive and then continue to treat everyone else later down the line. Also, dentists are not permitted to offer as many treatments to NHS patients as they can to private patients. If it really irks you, why not ring them up and ask them why they are choosing to run their business this way OR you could find a different dentist.
