Try not to stress over it , I know LJ suffers from this condition, perhaps talking to her may help you understand it?
have a booklet and meds to take, being taken to hospital was quite a daunting thing, especially when they let me go at 3am with no way to get home. Luckily i remembered my cab company so they were very good, took ten minutes to arrive and home by 3.30 am

In the current situation in the Capital and what happened to Sarah Everard, I think that was a dreadful decision by the hospital Emmie
i did ask for patient transport and was refused. i did phone their taxi company but it would have meant a wait of 1 and a half hours,
i generally use Addison Lee, and they came out at just after 3am and got me home.

That should never have happened anywhere let alone in London when you have people shouting out that women shouldn't be by themselves at night but at 3am? Not a good decision at all
no but thems the rules bobbi

I dare say Emmie but in the light of what's happened right on their front doorstep ? Rules can be broken in such times I would of thought
me too, i was actually asked if i could catch a bus, for crying out loud...
i usually am awarded patient transport because of the fact of not being able to walk that far because osteoathritis in both feet, knees. But obviously they thought different. still i got home in one piece.
does non- emergency patient transport run at 3am?
yes it does. after all they took me to hospital with AF, the least they could do was bring me home. I confess i was concerned this would happen and spoke with a doctor about it, who said they would arrange it, and wouldn't leave me stranded. good thing i had my phone with me, as i could have at there till 5am waiting for this other taxi company.

It's the same in Lanzarote to be honest, I was there with 5 girl friends for my 70th, we'd gone for a meal and were heading to the square for drinks around 9pm, Helen tripped over a tiny curb, caught her foot in the bottom of her long dress ,fell and broke her hip, only one person was allowed to go to hospital with her and that was me but they wouldn't move that ambulance till I ran over to our apt to get her passport and ins.
Coming back in a taxi, the driver on his mobile doing about 80mph on totally empty roads, I thought my end had come :0(
wasnt your AF an emergency then? you gave the impression that you called an ambulance/111 called an ambulance to come to you, not that you had a routine appt. Sorry i must have misunderstood. In any case, you got home safely thank goodness. you have been lucky in the past - In my area if you could get into a car/taxi you wouldn't be eligible for patient transport at any time - you would be expected to arrange your own transport to get to and from appointments
Glad you got back safe.
, the hospital doctor did say they would make sure i got home safe. rather scary to be stuck in a hospital early hours of the morning with little money, glad that i remembered my phone, as that had my local car company addison lee number in it. Otherwise i would have had to find some other taxi firm or as suggested get a bus.......

the paramedics decided i needed to go to hospital friday night. they even said it was an emergency as my heart beat was all over the shop.
because i have osteo artihritis in both knees, usually i can have patient transport, as i have done in the not too distant past. anyway, i am feeling bit better, heart not so wayward, have anti coagulant tablets to help

ta sparkly....

Do London buses operate all night?
What a ludicrous suggestion though
night buses bobbi, but don't know what ones, i wouldn't have taken a bus at 3am for love nor money, good thing as said i remembered to take my phone, with my local cab company number, and my purse,
i did have some cash, but cards too, whew...
just as aside bednobs, due to weight issues i can't get into a black cab.
but can manage private cars like the ones used by Addison lee. its still a major struggle.
Personally, I think it's shocking that a hospital let an older, not very well lady obviously on her own, struggle like this in the early hours of the morning. Not much patient care there in my opinion.
