When you go back for the follow up appointment Tanner, thank them for doing such a wonderful job, but make a big case for getting the other done by explaining that you find steps are now dangerous and that the effect of having one eye so good and the other still poor makes you dizzy. Maintain that closing one eye to walk makes you liable to lose balance and walk into things. The consultant will be doing her/his best to defer the other to "save money", in all probability, if you resist this and insist on having it done for your safety and well being it will happen quicker.
P.S. Did you find that colours were much more vivid too?
