Searching For A Photo
4 Answers
Some time back, years rather than months, I recall having seen a wildlife photo, very possibly a still from a wildlife programme. It was of a pair of leapards, the image being taken in the immediate aftermath of coitus. The male takes a dramatic leap backward off the female to put himself out of her reach in case, as seemingly often happens, she attacks him. After the female having roamed around in oestrus, calling for a sperm producer and one having come forward, the two promptly go their separate ways for good. Talk of a one night stand.
My question: Does anyone know where that photo might be found on the internet - I have tried searching for it but not had success so far ?

The photo I saw was shot at roughly ground level looking at the pair from the side, the female "presenting" (crouched with belly on the ground), the male in the air close to a metre above and behind the female. Both animals were basically seen in full body length profile view. The photo in your link seems to me to be of the "courtship/foreplay" stage.
Not what you are looking for...but apparently it can be much longer than a one night stand.
