What a fantastic 12 days, the weather has been top notch. Where have I been? everywhere I could possibly get in 12 days, almost a different location by the day, night times in the middle of nowhere sleeping within beautiful locations, the peace and quiet was deafening. It was that warm on two particular nights I went to sleep outside with just an insect net overhead, not done that since I was younger. Its great just to get up next morning and move on, no booking, no hassle, just turn up when and where you want, stop the night or move on to somewhere else.

The food to buy round those parts is great , fresh eggs, freshly picked strawberry's, and the quality of the meat is out of this world. Stopped at a few out of the way pubs for a nice change from cooking, and again the food served up was first class. Best holiday I've ever had. Now back for 2/3 weeks then I'm looking at Scotland, that's if its still open? not seen much news while away. I know your all glad to have me back?? :0)

Glad you enjoyed yourself, TC. The simple holidays are the best, imho, and if the weather holds out.......bonus.

Yep your can't beat the UK ( if the weather is reasonable) Scotland will be hit and miss I fear , but will keep a look out with the long range forecast nearer the time, but come what may the scenery up there will be worth it whatever.
If you're sleeping in the middle of nowhere in a motor home, where do you fill your fresh water tank and empty your waste? I do hope you're not leaving that in the middle of nowhere!

Don't you know Naomi? wow something you don't know, how about that. You book the odd night at a campsite and pay, then move on again, OK.
Oh, there's a clever girl. No flies on you, Teacake. :o)

Living like such also makes you less waste full believe it or not, and a lot more resourceful. You don't waste water or power, and if your going to travel to the middle of nowhere, you make your food last also, as you can't just pop to the shops.
How lovely teacake, glad you had a good time, am quite envious :)
Sounds lovely. Why anyone would wish to be negative ‘ ‘ ‘Naomi’ on this thread is very odd.
A nice break in beautiful surroundings, what could be better for blowing away the cobwebs.

Glad you enjoyed yourself.
The good weather was a real bonus.
You couldn't have picked anywhere better than the North Yorkshire Dales in my opinion. Lived there for many years and would love to live there again. Not possible unfortunately.
Anneasquith, what’s odd about asking how people dispose of their waste when they’re staying in the middle of nowhere? I do hope you’re not one who doesn’t care about keeping our countryside clean.
It's not the first time Teacake has been quizzed about such arrangements, it seems to happen whenever a journey is mentioned.

Good to know all is in order.
Naomi. Your post was negative. Maybe a state of AB mind you are in ?
With the continuous criticism of practically all you encounter on thread after thread, anneasquith, , best you worry about the state of your own mind.
Glad you had a lovely time, teacake. Sounds wonderful
No.. sorry Naomi, best you find someone else to ‘ argue’ with today. Sorry teacake for intruding on your positive post .
If you can’t hack it don’t start it, anneasquith. There was no need for your comment - none whatsoever.

Thanks all, well most. Let me clear things up a bit and try and put this, ( what appears ) to be a worry. When one is on the move has you may well be in a motor home, rather than stay in one place for 2 weeks, then there must be a certain amount of common sense planning on a day to day, depending of course how long you intend to stay off grid. The so called planning can be done the night before and really takes no time at all. Take readings of fresh water available, take readings of on board cesspit, take stock of food supplies, none of the above have been a problem, neither has the power, with onboard solar panels. The only time the cesspit would become a problem is if one had the runs for 2/3 days, other than that I love a wee in the bushes when possible, or if their is a public toilet that may be available, all the latter will help keep the sewer level down. The toilet flushes from a 12v battery and I have three of them, ( batteries) it also has its own water supply, separate from drinking. Hope this helps. next? :0)))

I forgot to add, I had three stops, ( overnight) 2x farms both with cesspits, and 1x camp site with what I believe to be a cesspit, or septic tank. OK job done. I paid inclusive for stay and empty/ refill.
