Dishwasher Tablets To Clean Washing Machine

Are there any reasons why it would be a bad plan to use dishwasher tablets to clean your washing machine? I’ve used white vinegar and soda crystals but the results are rubbish. There seems to be contradictory stuff on the web. Thank you

i dont see how they would clean the machine - they dont clean the dishwasher (you need dishwasher cleaner for that)

The article I read said something about the stuff in dishwasher tablets breaks down the washing machine gunk.

I'm not sure about dishwasher tablets but I have picked this up before now, they often have them for £1.99 in Lidl, sure I saw some the other day.

I usually use bicarb of soda and white vinegar for a general clean/refresh but figured I'd try one of these and see if it's any better.

Just where is your washer dirty? Do you regularly do a very hot wash?

It’s not dirty just seems that I should be cleaning it (I have no idea why) - I’ve ordered some ‘proper’ washing machine cleaner.

sherrard; why would you want to clean your washing machine if it isn't dirty?

I use washing machine cleaner. I always thought it was more about cleaning soap residue and limescale from hidden parts than cleaning the permanently shiny drum.

I use dishwasher cleaner too. Tablets only clean dishes.
