For those ladies who have had two children, was your first early, late or on time. And was your second early, late or on time?
I’m wondering if first babies are usually late, and second ones usually early.
I’m talking about ‘normal’ deliveries, not ones where things may have gone wrong.

Our eldest was 10 days late. We had planned for a home birth but it wasn't to be, it was a Caesar birth. All the others came more or less on time
Due dates are really just estimates so I presume you mean by early or late at least 2 weeks difference?
My first was one week past DD, second was three weeks before DD, third was four days after DD, Fourth was a couple of days after DD.
why ask the leddies when you can er ask me?
when you can google it

First babies are less likely to be “on time” at 39 weeks, and more likely to be a little late, between 41 and 43 weeks.
Among full-term pregnancies, first babies are born about 1.3 days later on average. But the average doesn’t tell the whole story.

average is misunderstood as 50% above and 50% below. It isnt - that is median
So if you have a dataset ( 1,2,3,4,2000) the average ( coz I am good at maff ) 402 and you will note 4 are one side and 1 is the other
yeah agree CG
good example of data from 1900-1950 might be completely different from 1980-2020 as the methods of dating are different ( scans )

My first, a daughter, was born on her due date. My son was four days late which is why he's not a George or William!
My first was born one day after the due date but labour actually started on the date I had been given. My second was born one day before the due date.
Our first child was 8 days late, our second was 2 days late.

First born arrived on the date I was given from the start.
Second born was 2 weeks late.
Third born, I honestly can't remember.
First was the heaviest
Second weighed less
Third weighed less again.
First - 2 weeks late.
Second - Born due date.
Third - 4 weeks early

My son (only child) was born on the due date I had worked out, 1 day earlier than the date my GP gave me.
First, a week early. Second, a week late. Third, on time. Fourth, 2 weeks late.
Both my daughters were early, working on the date given, by about 9-10 days, one 8lbs, one 7.12lbs.
I was the second and I was early :)
