I'm due to have a MRI scan

I'm taking Bendroflumehiazide , which I understand can affect kidney function

The information about the scan says they will be injecting a dye which my cause kidney problems .

Do you think its ok to go ahead and have the scan ?

No big deal.
Sometimes diuretics are given before an MRI,depending upon what they are looking for.

Should read - may cause kidney damage
I did get the gist -;)
The problem I had is the dye makes you feel you are wetting yourself

Should read - may cause kidney damage to to those who already have kidney problems

But how do you know if you already have kidney problems if it's not obvious, without undertaking investigations ?
It's always obvious if one has kidney problems ,if it isn't then the kidney problem is insignificant.
