Ummmm's Funeral Details

Ginge (Ummmm's partner) has asked that I let you know that Karen's funeral will be held at 10am on Friday 17 September 2021 at the Cathedral of Our Lady and St Thomas on Barrack Road, Northampton.

Family flowers only, but donations gladly accepted to a local charity, Earth's Lonely Angels.

Needless to say that ummmm used to do some cooking for Earth's Lonely Angels; at home and all at her own expense she'd prepare hot-meals for collection and distribution by other volunteers.
It was my pleasure to make a donation to this worthwhile charity in memory of my friend.

I thought it might be the charity she cooked for JTH. I will donate. She was a compassionate and kind lady and she never mentioned what she did on AB as far as I know.

JackTheHat - when I saw that charity, I thought that was so fitting. Those of us who were lucky enough to know her offsite knew how incredibly kind and generous she was. I shall also be proud to make a donation in her memory. I think it is lovely that there will be donations to help an organisation she actively supported.

I'm just amazed how many of you seem to know each other, I always thought we were anonymous!

TTT - For many of us, it has been a long time. JtH and Ummmm knew each other outside of AB predating it by many years; I got to know Ummmm in 2006 and when CB was closed and when we migrated elsewhere we got to know each other well.

Ummmm knew many many people on here (whom I do not know) and to whom she talked to all the time off site. She chatted to loads of people and reached out to many on here in need. She has been a friend to many people but her discretion was such that no-one really knew to whom she really chatted because she didnt blab.

She met with a number of us in real life at different times (not always the same group together). Sadly she couldnt come to my wedding in 2019 because she was poorly - it would have been a hoot.

For once, I can safely say, I am glad it wasnt so anonymous.

ok barmaid, thanks, oddly enough one of the few people I actually knew on here died last Saturday, of cancer. He didn't post much.
