After a few days in hospital with symptomatic anaemia, Hb level of 57, I was discharged yesterday and on the discharge notes it said to be followed up in anaemia clinic and have urgent CTAP OP.
Could anyone enlighten me please.

Fingers crossed Ferlew and you have unearthed a fair number of ABers needing Specsavers or brain transplants (as to their perverted minds!).

I wouldn't mind DTC, it wasn't even in ChatterBank :)
Ferlew, please try not to panic or overthink this, just wait for the doctor(s) to tell you their findings.
I don't believe that Google is anyone's best friend who is awaiting a diagnosis. By all means seek more details or understanding after the diagnosis. I wish you well with the outcome.

Thank you Choux, I don't really understand any of the medical links anyway, so won't be panicking over them. I really wanted to know what was involved in the procedure after already having the cameras "up", "down" and through my nose into my throat. I understand they were needed to search for where the blood may be going.
I'm a bit of a wuss with invasive procedures.
Wuss away, ferlew, I, for one, will not blame you for that. I think hospitals are much better these days for putting patients at ease when undergoing invasive testing, thank God.

I still remember fondly the kind Sister who rubbed my back throughout my gastroscopy as I elected to have it without any anaesthetic. It was just mind over matter for me.

Here's hoping you do not have to wait too long for the scan.
I wonder if they actually meant CT TAP which is a CT abdo/thorax/pelvis. A good way of looking for an underlying cause of the anaemia.
Unless you have a specific hepatic history or derranged liver function tests I can see why they would solely scan your liver.
