I've just had a bath. I washed my face as I usually do, with my usual cleanser, but today my skin has gone red and shiny in patches and it burns. Is it OK to put hydrocortisone on it? I don't want to use my usual moisturiser in case it makes it worse.

Vaseline still works wonders, my mum been using it all her life, still does at 100 years old. :0)

I have vaseline but not sure about putting it on a sore face.
Wash with clear water. Pat dry. See what happens. Vaseline shouldn't do any harm
Thats what vaseline is for a sore anything. :0)))
Just warm it gently if a bit stiff, the vaseline I mean.
Coconut oil could also help.
Question Author
I don't have coconut oil. I'll try the vaseline on a small area to see if it's OK.

Thanks all
Sounds like a contact dermatitis and the application of 1% hydrocortisone cream is a good idea.
Shall we say thinly three times a day.
