i'm 16 and for the last 2 weeks or so i have been getting sharp pains in my head. its just one area usually on the side of my head and then the pains go about 15 mins later before i can take anything. i've asked some people about it- my mum said it might be something to do with my neck (???) and a friend said stress. also one of my other friends the same age is having the exact same thing. i dont think this is a serious problem i am just curious. thanx!

sudu, it does sound stress related. it could be migraine, you should speak with your doctor or practice nurse
You can take pill of course but like it say's on the packet "if symptoms persist consult your GP. Always best to check these things out,and you usualy feel better knowing you did
I used to have sharp pains like this and in my case it was because I needed glasses. Go to the opticians for an eyetest - you may need glasses or your prescription altering if you already have glasses. If not your eyes, go to the doctors as haysi06 says.
I agree with your mum as I've had this problem before. It's called "referred pain" and probably stems from a problem in your neck or vertebrae. Go and see a good chiropractor like I did and they can normally fix the problem. Your doctor will only tell you to take tablets and put you on an endless waiting list for the NHS physiotherapist which does not treat the cause. Believe me, I know !
