Aches And Pains On Statins.
8 Answers
Iv been prescribed a Statin after a recent Heart Attack and a stent being fitted
I'm on 80mg of Avrostatin.
This is causing me horrendous muscle aches and pains.
An old Shin Splints injury had resurfaced since taking the Statins.
Anyone else suffering, and how do you manage
I'm due to have another stent fitted in 2 weeks, at which time I will speak to my Cardiologist about him prescribing me another Statins.

I began to suffer terrible pain in the joints of my fingers and toes. Also the balls of my feet and insteps. Doc said it couldn't possibly be the statins but i was insistent he lowered the dosage. He reluctantly lowered the dose to 40mg and, though i occasionally experience a little pain, it is nowhere near as debilitating nor frequent as it previously was.
I was put on Atorvastatin 20mg in July as my doc thought my result of 4.7 was risky and said i had a 20% risk of a heart attack.I didn't want to take them but he scared me and said most side affects are in the mind.Well the pain in my feet was awful,i felt sick and my short term memory is awful when normally i have a brilliant memory.I have no appetite and only eat once a day now.All these things are mentioned in the leaflet so i asked the receptionist to ask the doc if i could change the meds and he said no so i will see another doctor.I can't imagine how you are feeling on 80mg and hope you get it sorted out soon.
