Dunlopillo Mattresses

Another morning of whole body pain and I am thinking of changing mattress even tho this one is only about 3 years old.

Anyway after looking at some mattresses online - don't understand the "buttons" throughout the mattress - would they be uncomfortable?

I definitely don't want a hard mattress but does anybody out there have a Dunlopillo with opinions. Thanks

I bought a Dormeo when it was on offer. Not too hard but firm enough and very comfortable and retains its shape.

You know Lankeela - thanks for that but have resolved never even to buy a firm mattress either - I have tried them all and they are all too hard for me.

I am in so much pain in the morning.

I remember sinking into grandma's feather bed - did they do any harm to people's backs I wonder? They were certainly warm and cosy.

(60 day) trial for a full refund. T&Cs apply - read carefully.

jennyjoan, We had a mattress with buttons on it & couldn't stand it, you could feel the dips and the buttons. We bought a Tempur mattress years ago & have never looked back. My OH has terrible back pain, so after going to furniture stores & trying out different mattresses (pre-covid) we settled on a Tempur mattress. ( by the way - A bed with slats can make the mattress take on a different, unwelcoming feel) After the recommended "mattress life" we then went to look at mattresses again (pre covid) We wanted to go for something cheaper (Tempurs can be costly) We tried mattress toppers (waste of time & money) and after trying so many mattresses, we went back to the Tempur mattress, no regrets. There was also a trying out period but we had to buy a Tempur mattress protector, otherwise that was a no to them taking it back. Definitely read all the T&C's. I don't know how the trying period works now with covid. There was also on their website, where you could ask for a sample of the mattress (cube of it) to feel the texture for yourself. There are offers where they throw in the mattress protector or pillows in for free (haggle with them) Hope that helps and is of some use. Jackie Daniels

Yes, I've told you before that Dunlopillo latex is the only mattresses we've had (many years ago, members of the family worked for Dunlop and got massive discounts on their products). I really don't get on with any other type of mattress (sprung or ghastly memory foam).
Yes, they are pricey and heavy (although you don't have to turn them), but last for many, many years without any signs of wear.
(if you do opt for memory foam instead of latex, remember that there are many other brands available other than Tempur...Which? described Tempur as "wildly over-priced).
I would never change from Dunlopillo though.

^you do really need to try one though...they come in firm, medium and soft varieties.

well I did use m&s for the wine and a bed shop in Newtownards for the mattress. You probably know that anyway Barry. I deliberately bought the wine cos I hate the stuff - how anybody drinks vinegar beats me LOL
