Hi, I had an orthoptics appointment today and was told that I'd need surgery for a squint that's 58 horizontal and 4 vertical. I have no idea what these numbers mean, can anyone help?

Thanks buenchico, that is very helpful. I had 90 minutes of rigorous testing today and hadn't a clue what was going on, the video explains a lot
I got my squint sorted when I was a toddler and again in my early thirties (1995). Both times I had to make a doggy go into a kennel as part of the tests.

It is a n easy op and recovery time is quite short.
May I ask if you can see the squint when you look in a mirror? I have a slight squint that I can clearly see in photos but not in the mirror, so I am curious
