... something similar to a long lump across my tummy just below my ribs.
I've drunk more than my fair share throughout my life and recently the whites of my eyes have taken on a decidedly jaundiced hue.
Any thoughts?

Does the lump run across your body or down towards your pubic area?
You think it's your liver don't you, Sandy?
What little information that you have given and the abscence of pain in your post, brings me to the diagnosis of a non alcoholic fatty liver or that of an alcoholic fatty liver.

Whatever, you should see your GP for further liver function tests.

I could feel my liver when it was enlarged. All good now, though

Barry, across the body.
Tilly, yes I do.
Squd, I'll follow your advice.

Good to hear that, Barry.
Sandy you need face to face with a doctor so that he can press on your tummy and tell you what to do - so ask for that.

I will look for an appointment but I've a fair idea what his first words of advice will be: Throw your corkscrews into the bin.
Painless sudden jaundice, see GP. Sooner than later .
probably Sandy but at least you will know that - that will be end of the cork screws because as you would know if it is anything to with the liver - it can be rejuvenated and sure wouldn't that be great.
