Apparently, after extensive research on over 2000 people aged 50 - 75, it has been concluded that if you cannot stand on one leg for at least 10 seconds then you are 84% more likely to die within 10 years. Whose going to try it lol?

My own experimentation seems to show that I'm already dead. I wouldn't be able to get into the position shown in that second link even if I was lying flat on my bed. My attempts to balance in the position shown in the first link simply resulted in me keeling over in under a second!

But, the description in Buenchico’s link doesn’t match the picture.
I read it as the front of your free foot resting against the calf of the other leg, but the pic shows the woman with the sole of her free foot against the side of the other leg.

I can do it either way. I won’t ask Husband to try it. I don’t think he’d manage half a second. Which is a bit worrying. He is 78 though.
