Possible Hernia?
21 Answers
Hi Sqad, my daughter's partner came home from work yesterday and was in pain, from under his left rib, diagonally down to his groin. It felt worse this morning and tried to get emergency appointment at GP surgery. Unfortunately, it was shut, due to them all having covid...
He was told to go to an A&E walk in centre. We are waiting to hear back from him to see what's happening. Do you think it's a hernia? Hes a hard working young man ( 37), who does a lot of heavy lifting at times.

After explaining symptoms, the first done a urine test. All fine. Then said they think the problem is with his back. Gave him some strong painkillers, and told him if it gets worse, he'll have to go and sit & wait in A&E, where they will do more tests, i.e. m.r.i scan. Said it could be a hernia...
No lumps or bumps, sqad. He did complain of backache when he got home.
It's a shame, he had some private work this weekend. He's a welder and refurbished some lovely black iron gates and made some, for a chap in the village and he was going to make some railings to go on top of wall too. He won't be able to now for a while. I wish he could have been sent to A&E in the first place.

Update:-
Daughter's partner feeling a lot better after 4 days rest and painkillers. Certainly not pain free but more tolerable. Told his boss at work he wouldn't be able to do any heavy lifting for a while.
I think you were right Sqad. More than likely muscle strain. Anyway, he's just going to see how it goes next few days. Hopefully, he's on the mend.
