Hi...I recently went to a motor race with a travel company and made friends with the passenger sitting h next to me who was also travelling alone. HWe got on really well and at the end of the weekend whilst travelling home he said he wanted us to keep in vCard ontact...even inviting me to a B be he was putting on later in the summer. We live in different counties. I sent him a " how are you doing " text a few days ago but hasn't replied. I'm feeling a bit deflated as I now think he just wanted to all up with me over that weekend because he didn't want to be on his own. And he had no intention of keeping in touch anyway. Am I right to feel a bit annoyed?. What would you make of this?

If he is interested in staying in contact he will reply - if he doesn't chalk it up to experience and move on
I would forget it.
People get busy. People fall ill. People become forgetful People lose their mobile phones. There could be all sorts of reasons for not getting a reply.

If you sent a text, you must have the guy's phone number, so just give him a call. (International calls are generally quite cheap these days. My mobile provider only charges 4p per minute).
No contact after the Holiday is over. It happens all the time.

See pimplyteen's response, it's soooo right.

@10.14 Must have got stuck at the airport. :)
ael @1014, I noticed that as well and no answers in almost 10 years, so if his friend follows the same trend, then Cora1 can forget him.
People talk about 'keeping in touch', and at the time they genuinely mean it.

But real life soon takes over from the holiday, where all you have to do is focus on your new friendship, and very little else.

Real life fills up your time very quickly, and your good intention to keep in touch can evaporate really quickly.

Don't assume malice or bad intent on your friend's part, life simple gets away from us all.
Your eyes clearly work better than mine, Bednobs ;-)

OK, if its 'counties', rather than 'countries', there's even less reason not to call!
