My blood pressure has been very low since Sunday. Took a couple of readings first day, 92/52, hasn't got much higher, either. The highest was 2 days ago 100/61. Took it just now, 95/57. I'm yet to take my second bisoporol..
I have been feeling exhausted and down lately, so maybe that's what was causing it. How can I get it higher?
Indeed it is a small dose, but may well be affecting your blood pressure.
Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water and continue monitoring your BP over the week end and get back to us on Monday.
I presume that you are taking Bisoprolol for your blood pressure?
Thanks sqad. I drink loads of water, always have. No, I take them because I had a very fast heart beat and had to go into hospital to be monitored twelve years ago. Thats when I was put on Bisoprolol. I tried cutting one in half and my heart was racing, my blood pressure improved slightly. My doctor knows I have low blood pressure and likes me to monitor it regularly. I'm on holiday next week, so when I get back , I will monitor it again and if no improvement will let Dr know.
I went on a Health Bus a few weeks ago and was surprised to find my blood pressure was low. There was a big sheet of advice for high blood pressure but nothing for low pressure, so what do I do about it?
I'm 75 and very active, row, cycle and weight train.
May I ask why people have BP monitors?
My MIL has one - although she is not on any medication for BP!
Its just I am on BP medication as my BP is very high but I have never been advised to get a monitor.
Hope you get it sorted and have you considered taking some B12
RH, Some people with blood pressure issues are asked to monitor blood pressure regularly over a certain period - say for a week at a time every six months. Patients are our GP surgery may borrow a monitor but some opt to buy their own.
She said she is feeling exhausted and down so she could need a little boost of B12.
I think monitoring your own BP is a bit dodgy tbh as it varies from person to person and that is what GP's are there to do. Personal opinion of course and bound to be slapped down!
I don't expect an answer Naomi - as I rarely get one!
I don't see the point in checking your BP if you are not having BP issues but again it is my opinion
/// BP if you are not having BP issues but again it is my opinion///
I have a certain sympathy with your view....however, Hypertension is not dubbed "the Silent Killer" for no good reason........you condition may well be symptomless.
