This must be galling to read by those on the housing list.

Surely those in sheltered accommodation should get first choice & the refugees move into the sheltered accommodation.

I tend to agree with this Sharon and what about our homeless ? I think those who acted as interpreters for the British Army against the Taliban should be priority but the others should be on a waiting list like our own people are
why should house afgans and syrian so called refuguees when they are homeless veterans on the the streets, britain for the british, britain first.
why should it be galling - it's the same rule for everyone on the list isnt it? Turn down 2 offers and they stop offering?
Fraser, those who worked with the British Army were promised a life here which hasn’t happened but I do agree we have a responsibility to our own people too

But bednobs it seem like the Afghanis are going to be prioritised.
where does it say that?
bobbisox there no war in afganistan or syria why are they coming here, one thing only benifits, as said before britain first.
Unusually I agree with Bednobs.

This story, not unusual for the MSM, is written to stir trouble.
They’re fleeing an evil regime ,I don’t think they are all genuine asylum seekers but as I said earlier, they helped ‘us’ with the promise that if they did, they’d be looked after here, that hasn’t happened which is wrong
they are not asylum seekers or refugees, but evacuees. They were evacuated from Afganistan by us because their lives and those of their families were at risk from helping us.
Yes, but if you turn down two offers of accommodation - those are the rules for everyone.
the only geniune refuguees are the women and children from ukraine the rest are an invasion. the men stay at home and fight russia.
eh?

Ok, but those in sheltered accommodation, are they being offered the same choices. I know it is standard rule but is it being overlooked.
All these Turkish ( for Turkish read Albanian ) barbers have got to be housed !
The Turks do a good haircut though, my SIL swears by them.

Not sure of the relevance to this thread though
what do you mean by sheltered housing? sheltered housing is housing for disabled or old people who need a warden.
Question Author
To me it means those in hotels or a one bedded room awaiting decent housing.
ps WHAT is a standard rule? Is what being overlooked? Your post does not make any sense to me
if by standard rule you mean turn down accomodation and we stop offering, yes. Clearly from your link Its NOT being overlooked?
these people ARE in hotels awaiting accomodation according to your own link. Your post is making me really confused!
