Last time I had a driving lesson last week didn't go down well I kept forgetting the manoeuvre of 2 meters from another car and my instructor thought it was short term memory due to medication I emailed the hospital she said it probably is that but gets easier. I'm looking for a female instructor but all busy right now.
Do not worry. Keep on at the driving, it will get easier. When i started driving it took a time and i took four tests, but i have been a good and safe driver since.
this needs to be embedded in your muscle memory, along with everything else about driving: you've got to be watching the road, looking out for pedestrians, people opening doors, all automatically without even thinking about it. You'll get there but it may well take time. And in general do watch out for medication (including alcohol) that might reduce your attention.

Stick with it, but I understand how you feel. My first Driving Instructor made me so nervous that I sometimes froze - and that made him nervous and he slammed on his brakes. Not a partnership made in Heaven and I stopped learning for some time. I then started again with my husband teaching me and I passed my test 2nd time.
Elder granddaughter is just starting to learn with her dad and is saving-up for a course of lessons. She gets nervous too.
It seems like such a lot to learn, but it does fall into place and become second-nature. :)
