Been for a weeks holiday in different hotels. A couple of nights after I came back l woke in the night and didn’t know where I was. This lasted around 10 seconds and I got up and looked through the window, then realised I was at home. It’s happened a couple of times since, but only for a couple of seconds. And I don’t drink! Help please. Hope it’s not the first signs of something …

Your just re-adjusting smurf, after having slept in different hotel rooms. Nothing to worry about.

What day is it? ;-)

Thanks Maydup. It’s awful when your mind goes blank …..
you sort of assume you'll instantly know your own home better than anywhere else on earth, but that's not always been my experience, especially after a few days in different hotels.

If you find yourself unable to recognise the man in the other half of the bed, however, get back to us - one of us may be able to identify him.
Many moons ago i worked 3 shifts it was ruddy hell for many months especially at night at home, just found myself woundering round the landing area at 2 3 4am scary.
That's happened to me on occasions. Just your brain trying to keep up with fast pace of life..:-)
Been there, done that!

Back in my teaching days, shortly after returning from a conference in Adelaide, I nipped out of my classroom to get something from the stockroom. When I got there, I realised that
(a) I'd no idea what I'd gone there for ;
(b) I'd no idea which class I was in the middle of teaching ;
(c) I'd no idea as to which topic I was teaching them ; and
(d) I'd no idea as to which classroom they were in.

I had to wander down the corridor, looking through each door, to find a class that hadn't got a teacher and then look at their exercise books to work out what it was that I was meant to be teaching them!

That was 36 years ago and I've not totally lost my marbles yet ;-)
All good replies smurfy.
No big deal.
Par for the course when you a staying in hotels. I`ve woken up and it's taken a lot more than 10 seconds to realise where I am.
When I used to drive my truck across Europe, I'd quite often 'tune out' and suddenly think 'where am I?'. Had to wait for the next motorway sign or familiar landmark to come up. I never hit anything...honest!
Nooo. All the changes have left you just a bit disorientated. I've done that myself. Don't worry about it.
You still trying to blame Adelaide for your scrambled marbles Buenchico??
Anecdotally (& not what troubles the OP) - a friend's brother had a job which involved travelling about the UK. He would set off for (say) Sunderland & several hours later come round parked up on the seafront at Brighton with no recollection of how he got there!

It was diagnosed as a medical condition. Very strange & worrisome.
