For the last few months whenever my husband eats anything with onion or garlic in it he sweats around his scrotum and it smells of onion or garlic and gets itchy.

Also whenever he goes to the toilet his urine smells of whatever he has recently ate. This started at the same time as the onion/garlic issue.

Could anyone give any advice on what could be causing this? He's looked on google and its suggested a kidney issue and he's got to wait 2 weeks to see the GP

You stand a chance of getting lots of flippant replies putting this in CB. Body & Soul/Health & Fitness is a better place for health issues.

Nevertheless, good luck with getting a solution (Sqad will probably along shortly, he's usually very helpful with health issues).
On the information given, this would seem to be a normal reaction from a normal kidney due to inadequate fluid intake. Tell him to drink plenty of fluid.
You GP will get a better medical history.
