I am 22 and I'm from the UK I have struggled in the past with my concentration but recently it has gotten a lot worse as I can't stay focused on a task for longer than 10-20 mins without needing to take a break. I plan on taking Ritalin or anything else that could help me concentrate for longer. I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD. And I don't know why my concentration has completely gone in the past couple of months and I don't know how to fix it

I doubt drugs are the answer. Perhaps you just need to get into a routine, and put away things you know distract you.

If there has been a change in the last couple of months though, perhaps it would be valuable to try to pinpoint what has changed recently. Are you stressed ? Are you sleeping ok, and get to bed at a sensible hour ? What has changed ?
Murphy; Can you describe your problem in a bit more detail? Were you able to concentrate on things better in the past? What things could you concentrate on? What do you mean by a task? Reading a book? Watching a film?
//// I don't know how to fix it///

but

//// I plan on taking Ritalin ///

I think you need to examine those two statements very carefully before you plunge into taking drugs (I admit I am displaying my prejudice here, where I think that these days people (and docs) are all too eager to find the solution ih the pill bottle or hypodermic).

But think about what OG has said, and look more carefully for a cause - prevention is better than cure.

Good luck.

Try to stop worrying about your lack of concentration. Look at ways of helping with a diet plan. Certain foods do help. Take a walk and breathe in some fresh air. Yoga, meditation and relaxation techniques are also helpful. There are often classes for these . I hope that you start to feel better soon.
The symptoms that you describe could well be due to ADHD and the medication that you suggest is quite appropriate.

However, before you procede please have the diagnosis confirmed by a Neurologist, as there are other causes for your symptoms.
