My Mother Has Got Covid19 Worried Not Good Lungs
28 Answers
Hi there after well over 2 years my mother has avoided Covid until now. She is 83 and she has had all her injections. 5 in total. Her chest is quite weak over the years she has pneumonia twice but made full recovery both times. Every time she has a cold it goes straight to her chest. She also has asthma. Every time she gets a chest infection she goes on prednisone and it sends her as high as a kite! I'm hoping she will be ok. My dad is 85 he will be at risk as well presumably? I am also a wee bit worried about myself. The last 2 days I have been exhausted nauseous and totally off my food. I felt like this last time I had Covid in May 2 days before cough and sore throat started and then I tested positive. Wasn't too bad I've had 4 injections. I've seen mum 3 times this week. Is it possible I could get infected? Could things get really bad for her I mean are people still being hospitalized with Covid who are fully vaccinated

Perhaps not a bad idea if your father reduced his contact with her, though, if he's likely to be the one who has to look after her: ideally you don't want them both to pick it up. And the same goes for you. Look after yourselves.

I dont get your point either canary. Are you saying she must of caught it from some vaxx refuser ir someone who broke lockdown rules'guidance, yes its possible but its much more likely she caught it from someone like you or her or me whose been fully vaccinnated and taken precautions but just been unlucky to pick it up maybe in a supermarket or a bus or in work or in the doctors waiting room visiting /or caring for a friend or family
What on earth are you talking about, Canary?

My understanding is in a group of people if there are vaccinated and unvaccinated people. The unvaccinated people are at more risk of getting Covid than the vaccinated. I strongly believe that everyone who medically can, should have the vaccines. All my friends and family have had them. I have had 4. My parents being over 80 have had 5. I'm diabetic chubby with atrial fibrillation I would be too scared not to have it. Seeing it right at the beginning with all the people on ventilators, before vaccines scared the crap out of me so I was so grateful when I got that first jab in my arm. Yes i do worry slightly about the long term affects of the injections but I know about the short term affects of Covid and that worries me enough to get vaccinated
I now take what so-called experts say with a pinch of salt.
yeah but no but - Einstein cdnt boil an egg innit - but he was OK on astrophysics
I spotted an Prof of epidemiology ( stats to you and me) [which I cant do] making an awful fool of himself over virus culture [which I can do]. Not having learnt from Areny and Grenfell ( enquiries dont work but do fill lawyers' pockers with gold) we are going to have an inquiry on it all

Geordie......you post of 21.19 is well written and says it all.
I am not a southsaya and cannot guarantee that your mother or father will suffer badly with Covid but I can say is that it is extremely unlikely.
You attitude to Covid in the above post of yours addresses the issue as well as it could.
Don't worry.
