Well, I don't do much drinking, just the occasional wine/sherry/gin and tonic/beer at home, but I have to get out of bed every two hours in the night. Drinking alcohol - or not - doesn't seem to matter. By the way, I'm 83.
Get your prostate checked, Sandy!

Are you drinking more water? I am up several times a night for a pee. Water is so easy to guzzle out of the bottle. I have been known to drink a litre in a couple of drinks.
Could be body still cleansing itself, age, combination of both or you're just noticing it more x
i dont know, but well done!
Alcohol dehydrates the body especially when consumed in large quantities.

I'm drinking lots of mugs of tea, 10 or more a day.
But that's nowhere near the amount of fluid I was taking when I drank.
Different kind of fluid, Sandy.
Nothing to do with antidiuretic effect or not of alcohol, 10 mugs of tea would explain you "peeing" perfectly.
Alcohol dehydrates you so after a drinking session (or all the time if you drink constantly) your body is re-absorbing fluids & you won't pee much. If you stop drinking alcohol your body regains all the fluid it needs so you pee out a lot of what you take in. You are only making up losses through sweating & whatever moisture you expel with breathing. my 2 cents
I was drinking a dozen cups of tea a day and peeing for England, cut it down to no more that four a day, last one no later than tea time, and also changed to decaf, and it has made a hell of a difference. I now take decaf teabags with me everywhere, because if I drink leaded tea now I climb the walls!
Well done Sandy :-)
